Happy reunion 2010 Dr Roger Mugford, The Company of Animals

Sandie started her animal care career by working at Riding stables, and at 16 years old, left home to be a working jockey at Lord Lucan's brother's National Hunt horse racing yard.

Later she become acquainted with Dr. Roger Mugford a renowned and internationally known Animal Behaviorist.

In 1987 Sandie was offered position in Los Angles, working with horses on the Show jumping circuit, she accepted the position and has never looked back.

Yogi Bear, we will never forget you In 1989 Sandie joined  Canine Companions for Independence, a non-profit organization that trains assistance dogs for the physically challenged.  This is where she trained her own dog Yogi Bear to be a service dog for the hearing impaired. (Not knowing that she would meet the man of her dreams who would need just this type of dog)

In 1991 Sandie founded ANIMALS FIRST in San Diego, specializing in puppy & obedience dog training. In 1993 she earned  A national certification as a Companion Animal Hygienist (C.A.H.) the following year. In 1994 Sandie was invited to open a grooming facility at the Helen Woodward Animal Center in Rancho Santa Fe by the center’s director himself, John Calender. The Pet Beauty Parlor was a great asset to the HWAC facility. But closed when Fairhaven Ranch was opened in 2001.

Marc Taylor, born a minister’s son in Ohio, is himself an ordained Pastor. He attended the Horizon School of Evangelism under Pastor Mike McIntosh in San Diego and headed up several ministries while attending the school.  Marc became the senior pastor at the Seaside Christian Fellowship church, in San Diego, for over six years.

Marc & faithful up close Since joining Animals First, Marc has become known as “My Wonderful husband" to his wife, Sandie and "Mr Velcro"  to all his furry friends. His gentleness and playfulness makes him a great companion and buddy to guests staying at the pet resort or being groomed at the Pet Beauty Parlor. In addition, Marc now maintains Fairhaven Ranch and oversees the horses, barn, arenas, and landscaping.
